YEREVAN. – The trial into the case Scotch Whiskey Company vs. Hayasi Company—which is linked to Armenia’s opposition Orinats Yerkir (Rule of Law) Party Chairman Arthur Baghdasaryan—has been set for September 25, reported Hraparak daily.

“Hayasi not only has financial, but legal issues. The Scotch whiskey-producing company has sued Hayasi, since the latter produces drinks with the Scotch Whiskey brand.

“We learn from the judicial information system [of Armenia] that the Scotch Whisky Association has petitioned to the court demanding to prohibit Hayasi’s ‘illegal activities, to remove the fake product from circulation and destroy [it], prevent the offenses, [and] compensate for the damages.’

“The court granted the motion for provisional measures of the lawsuit; it has put a freeze on the products of Hayasi.

“Incidentally, there will be an open, public trial,” wrote Hraparak.
