The talks on a free trade zone between the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and Israel are scheduled to begin in October.

The negotiations will start immediately after the EEU leaders will make a decision on the matter, BELTA reported.

Member (Minister) for Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission Andrei Slepnev said creation of a free trade zone with Israeli will hardly have a significant impact on the economy of member states.

However, the establishment of the free trade zone with Israel will open up good prospects for cooperation in the supply of agricultural products, medicines, telecommunications equipment.

“In addition to the commodity component, we expect that the agreement will encourage the exchange of investment and technology,” the Minister said.
