A one-year Martian experiment has kicked off in Hawaii. During that time, six people will be isolated inside a dome that is 36 feet in diameter and 20 feet tall.

The crew consisting of international volunteer group includes a French astrobiologist, a German physicist and four Americans - a pilot, an architect, a doctor/journalist and a soil scientist.

All volunteers will have their own small rooms, with sleeping cot and desk. During the experiment they are going to eat foods like powdered cheese and canned tuna. They will be able to go outside only in a spacesuit. Besides, they will have limited access to the Internet.

This is the fourth similar experiment, Lenta.ru reports, citing The Guardian.
