YEREVAN. – On Monday at 11:55am, the Police of Armenia received a call from a person, and she informed that there was a stench coming from the apartment of a building in capital city Yerevan, informed the Police news service.

The police officers that were dispatched to the scene discovered, in the living room of the said apartment, the dead body—with multiple stab wounds—of the apartment resident, Vahan Aghajanyan (born in 1961), who was previously convicted seven times.

On the same day at 9pm, Rafayel M. (born in 1983) was taken to a police station on suspicion of committing this murder.

He confessed that, on August 28 at around 1am, he had stabbed multiple times and killed Aghajanyan, who was sleeping on the living room sofa of the said apartment. 

The knife used in the crime is found and seized.

Rafayel M. is arrested.
