YEREVAN. - 4 activists of “Stand up Armenia” campaign were detained from the central Republic Square of Yerevan at about 8:00 p.m. Campaign Council member Andrias Ghukasyan told Armenian News – NEWS.am that the police detained the activists when they tried to block the streets leading to the square.

“We’re doing our best to keep the police on guard with our protests,” Ghukasyan said.

6 activists of the “No to Plunder” campaign, detained earlier in Baghramyan Avenue, have already been released.

“Stand up, Armenia” campaign has been staging a sit-in in Yerevan’s Republic Square since July 27. They are demanding to revoke the decision on electricity price hike, nationalize the Electric Networks of Armenia and change the members of the Public Services Regulatory Commission.
