Incumbent President Alexander Lukashenko has submitted his documents to the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus, to be able run in the upcoming presidential election in the country. The aforementioned is noted in a CEC statement.

The presidential voting in Belarus is slated for October 11.

Aside from Lukashenko, four other candidates, including one woman—social activist Tatyana Korotkevich, will vie to become the next President of Belarus, reported the Gazeta.ru Russian news site.
