Canada's Minister of National Defense and Multiculturalism Hon. Jason Kenney announced that a re-elected Conservative government would open a consular office in Yerevan.

The Minister said that a trade office tarrgeted at the development of trade ties between Armenia and Canada will open as well, Horizon Weekly reported.

During the meeting at the Toronto Armenian Community Centre, the Minister said that Canada has weclomed more than 25,000 refugees from Iraq and Syria.

“Touched to meet dozens of Armenians fr Syria & Iraq,some of the 25,000 refugees welcomed via our resettlement program,” he tweeted after the meeting.
