YEREVAN. – Yerevan will become the first capital city of the European Universities Chess Championship, which Armenia’s capital city will host between October 6 and 11.

The aforesaid was noted at Tuesday’s working consultation in the Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia.

Representatives of the event organizing committee briefed Minister Armen Ashotyan on the respective preparations, informed the ministry. Ashotyan, in turn, instructed to organize this tournament in proper fashion.

Thirty teams from fifteen countries have applied to compete in the European Universities Chess Championship.

Armenia will participate in this tournament with three teams each for boys and girls.

The European Universities Chess Championship will be held for the first time.
