After being discussed at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) session, an information note pertaining to Armenia was voted on and adopted on Thursday.

The document refers to the current developments in Armenia.

National Assembly (NA) of Armenia Vice President Hermine Naghdalyan, who also heads the Armenian delegation to the PACE, noted about the aforementioned in her address Thursday at a discussion on the fourth day of the PACE plenary session.

Naghdalyan informed that the said note focuses on the ongoing constitutional reform process in Armenia.

The NA deputy speaker also conveyed to her European colleagues the Armenian authorities’ conviction that a comprehensive constitutional reform can be implemented solely based upon a broad public consensus.

In concluding, she expressed a conviction that the constitutional reform initiative ensures a unique opportunity to reform in Armenia.

On October 5, the NA will commence debates on the new draft Constitution. Pursuant to this draft, Armenia will make a transition from a semi-presidential to a parliamentary system of governance.
