VAGHARSHAPAT. – Celebrating a city day is right, since it educates the generations without textbooks.

President of the National Assembly of Armenia, Galust Sahakyan, on Thursday told the abovementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am, during the 2,700th anniversary celebrations of Vagharshapat—better known as Etchmiadzin—city in the Armavir Province.

Sahakyan added that the accomplishments of this town are apparent to everyone.

“It is a city that has come from quite depths; besides, it is our [i.e. Armenians’] religious center,” noted Sahakyan. “It is also very important that our descendants will be able to pave a way toward future with national values.”

And the Governor of Armavir, Ashot Ghahramanyan, told Armenian News-NEWS.am that even though the Etchmiadzin residents face challenges like everyone, they celebrate their city’s day with great joy. 

President Serzh Sargsyan and numerous guests are also on hand at the 2,700th anniversary celebrations of Etchmiadzin.
