YEREVAN. – The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Edward Nalbandian, and the French Minister of State for European Affairs, Harlem Désir, discussed Armenian-French relations as well as regional and international matters.

Désir has arrived in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan to participate in the 31st meeting of the Ministerial Conference of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF).

And during the briefing after their talk, Nalbandian said he informed the high-ranking French guest about Azerbaijan’s aggression along its border with Armenia and Line of Contact with Nagorno-Karabakh. In this connection, the FM confirmed Armenia’s readiness to pacifically settle the Karabakh conflict.

Further development of Armenia-European Union relations also was an important part of the talk between the Armenian FM and the French minister of state. In this regard, they pointed to next week’s approval of the mandate for the preparation of a new respective legal foundation.
