YEREVAN. – The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, achieved success in the early parliamentary election by way of instigating artificial clashes and creating a climate of fear in the country.

Ambassador Ara Papyan, who is a political scientist and Director of the Modus Vivendi Center, stated the aforesaid at a press conference on Wednesday.

But Papyan noted that he had erred in predicting that the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) would not succeed in this parliamentary voting.

The analyst added, however, that Erdoğan will be unable to establish stability in Turkey, and the wave of violence will continue and come out of his control.

Ara Papyan predicted that, from now on, Turkey’s relations will further roughen with its neighboring countries, especially with Armenia and Syria, but the latter will cause the Turkey-West relations to strain which, in turn, is advantageous to Armenia.

“The US will not allow Turkey to become independent,” he said. “[And] our interests can meet here.”

The AKP won Sunday’s snap parliamentary election in Turkey.
