YEREVAN. - In 2016, Armenia will launch the restoration of the Cyclopean Fortress of Lchashen dating from the 7th century BC, Armenia’s Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan said in the parliament today. The fortress was built in the Urartian period.

Among other monuments subject to restoration are the cathedral of St. Gregory (Bardzrakash) (10-13th century) in Dsegh village of Armenia’s Lori province, Marmashen (10-11th century) in Shirak province, Dvin city’s ancient site (4-5th centuries) in Ararat province, and Mshkavank (first record dates from 13th century) in Tavush province.
