YEREVAN. – According to preliminary figures issued by the National Statistical Service of Armenia, the county’s economic activity index (EAI) has totaled 103.5 percent, from January to October.

All branches of Armenia’s economy, except for trade turnover, have contributed to the EAI growth.

But the drop in the trade continues to be driven mainly by the reduction in private remittances from abroad.

However, the growth in Armenia’s service sector continues.

In addition, a nominal growth has been recorded in the country’s mining industry and quarrying.

Manufacturing has likewise increased in Armenia.

Furthermore, a growth is recorded in the exports of several branches of industrial products.

But foreign trade, exports and imports have reduced by 20.4 percent, 2.2 percent and 26.6 percent, respectively.
