The leader of Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) Abdullah Ocalan sentenced to life imprisonment on Imrali Island made a statement through his lawyers.

According to Firat news agency, commenting on the Kurdish issue, Ocalan noted that the ruling Justice and Development party is leading the country to dictatorship. He stressed that since the times of Young Turks and to date gangs have been ruling Turkey. Ocalan called them hidden gangs of genocide committers.

The Kurdish leader noted that Turkey had committed genocides not only against Kurds but other nations as well. During the massacres in Marash, Sebastia and Dersim in 1938, children were cruelly killed. One should not forget about the Armenian Genocide, he added. “Then, only Hrant Dink was left, but they killed him as well. Armenians live in fear in Turkey.  Dink’s assassination is the last Genocide against Armenians,” the PKK leader stated, adding that policemen hugged Dink’s murderer and called him a hero.
