YEREVAN. – The Government of Armenia has given its approval, at Thursday’s Cabinet session, to the €75-million loan, which the French Development Agency (AFD) will provide for the construction of a large irrigation reservoir in Vedi town in the Ararat Province.

The loan will be provided on concessional terms, and for twenty years.

The capacity of the reservoir will be 29 million cubic meters, and its construction will last five years.

The reservoir will be designed to irrigate over 4,000 hectares in the Ararat plain, which is Armenia’s key agricultural region.
