YEREVAN. - Ameriabank has signed a $25 mln syndicated loan agreement with the Netherlands’ Development Finance Company (FMO) and Austria’s Development Bank (OeEB). The loan will be directed to the loaning of Armenia’s small and medium enterprises (SME), as well as the funding of renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.

SMEs are of a great significance for the development and stability of the Armenian economy, since they ensure around 40 per cent of the country’s GDP. This long-term funding will contribute to the further expansion and development of SMEs in Armenia, as well as the growth of competition in the domestic and foreign markets.

The funding directed to the renewable energy will serve as an impetus for the enhancement of that sphere’s sustainable development, as well as insurance of energy conservation among the enterprises and the population.

Having expanded its cooperation with authoritative international institutions, Ameriabank has engaged overall $345 mln funds as a result of the efficient cooperation.
