YEREVAN. - EU neither left anywhere nor “buried” everything: 3,5 years of talks with Armenia is great time, great experience. Lithuanian Ambassador to Armenia Erikas Petrikas stated the aforementioned to Armenia News – NEWS.am today.

According to him, Armenia has made big steps: “And the talks which were launched on December 7 between Ms Mogherini and Minister Nalbandian are not something new; it’s the continuation of our cooperation with Armenia. Lithuania has always been Armenia’s friend, always standing with Armenia and supporting the “Eastern Partnership” as well as Armenia’s decision to find common grounds. It’s just the continuation of our cooperation,” Erikas Petrikas said.

To the question on whether the achieved agreement is only declarative, the Ambassador said: “This will be a legal document, it already exists. You know, we don’t need to reinvent bicycle; we have already covered each paragraph. It’s very good for you that the EU is near: it’s here, isn’t leaving anywhere and helps with big amounts. Let’s just see in which spheres.”

As to the differences between the future agreement and the Association Agreement, Erikas Petrikas said: “The talks have just kicked off. Let’s wait: everything is going on pursuant to the plan and schedule.”

Responding to the question of Armenian News – NEWS.am correspondent on whether there might be obstacles from the side of Russia, the diplomat said: “I don’t think they will hinder. The time will show.”
