Georgia’s recognition of Abkhazia and the establishment of full state relations need to be the final decision from which all parties will benefit; this will benefit the entire region.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia, Viacheslav Chirikba, told  the abovementioned to Sputnik news agency.

“We will continue the [respective] political dialogue with Georgia,” the Abkhazian diplomat added. “At the same time, we will work in all directions of foreign policy.”

Chirikba also noted that the pertinent Geneva discussions are continuing with quite difficulty.

“The key issue on the agenda is the signing of an agreement with Georgia on the non-use of force,” Viacheslav Chirikba stated. “But Georgia refuses to sign such a document.”
