Sudan on Monday announced the severing of diplomatic ties with Iran—after the Saudi Arabian embassy in Tehran was attacked amid a row over the execution of a Shia Muslim cleric.
The aforesaid is noted in the statement released by the staff of President Omar al-Bashir of Sudan.
In addition, Sudan declared the Iranian ambassador persona non grata, and requested all Iranian diplomatic personnel to leave the country, reported TASS news agency of Russia.
Earlier, Saudi Arabia had broken diplomatic relations with Iran, and over this incident.
