Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE) will hold another Digicode programming contest for schoolchildren on January 30.

Executive Director of the UITE of Armenia, Karen Vardanyan, stated the aforementioned at a press conference Wednesday.

The contest will be held for two age categories – 8-13 and 13-18 year olds. “It’s very pleasant that they see themselves as programmers at a very early age. If you remember, last year an 8-year-old girl won in the category of 8-13 year-olds, having a read-made computer game program. That is, she will absolutely be able to become a high level specialist in several years,” Vardanyan said.

UITE helps future programmers get known with friends all over the world. “We show them how to put their programs on websites for beginner developers, for instance, on the page of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). A virtual friendship may ensue between fellow-thinkers there. As to how useful this might be, I think there is no need to elaborate on,” he added.
