YEREVAN. – Armenia appreciates Iran’s balanced position on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian on Tuesday told the abovementioned to reporters, as he summed up the year 2015.
Reflecting on Iran’s repeated proposal to act as a mediator in resolving this conflict, the FM said the ongoing Karabakh negotiations have not yet achieved any progress not because the mediators are bad, or the proposals are ineffective.
“[It’s because] Azerbaijan has no political will,” Nalbandian stated.
At the same time, the Armenian FM expressed confidence that Iran is genuinely interested in a swift resolution to the Karabakh conflict.
