YEREVAN. – Following the lifting of sanctions on Iran, there will be an opportunity to raise Iran-Armenia relations to a completely new level.

Iranian Studies specialist Vardan Voskanyan noted the above-said at a press conference on Wednesday.

“We are talking about economic and cultural relations,” the expert said. “Armenia has a considerable cultural appeal for Iran. Iranians perceive our country as a European country. We are the embodiment of Europe in the Iranian worldview. We need to use this and properly present Armenia.”

In Voskanyan’s words, Armenia is appealing for Iranians, especially since they have a problem in entering Georgia.

Also, he urged not to fear that an increase in the number of Iranians in Armenia could have a negative impact.

“Armenia will be ‘flooded’ from our neighboring countries; they will not come and ‘flood’ from France,” Vardan Voskanyan added. “We thus need to try to secure the economy of our country.”
