YEREVAN. – The investigation of the case into the tragic road accident that occurred in August of the year past in Armenia, and which involved an Iranian truck driver, is completed, and the case has been sent to court.

According to the indictment the Iranian truck driver, Ismail Khanikheradin, had been under the influence of drugs, and the truck he was driving had mechanical malfunctions at the time of the accident. The brakes of the truck had stopped working, and as a result, the truck hit several vehicles causing one death and a number of injuries.

Criminal charges are brought against Khanikheradin.

He is arrested.

A road accident with ensuing fire had occurred on August 13, 2015 in Yeraskh village, in Ararat Province. A truck with Iranian license plates had collided with seven vehicles. The accident had claimed one life and injured nine others.
