Yezidis mark Resurrection Day today. On this occasion,  Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan today visited Alagyaz village of Armenia’s Aragatsotn province, where the family of Sidar Aloyan, Yezidi soldier, who heroically died on 18 December 2015   lives.

Valuing the heroic deed of the Medal for Courage knight and expressing gratitude to the family members of the late soldier, the Minister stressed that the brotherhood and cooperation of the Armenian and Yezidi peoples has a decade-old history, the best proof of which is the courage and selflessness manifested by the Armenian and Yezidi soldiers during the defense of Armenia’s borders.

The soldier’s family members thanked the Defense Minister for his visit and noted that although they were deeply grieved by their son’s death, such visits console them.

Ohanyan assured that the Defense Ministry will do its best in the future to perpetuate the memory of Sidar Aloyan in Alagyaz village.
