Journalist Engin Ardıç of Turkish pro-government Sabah daily newspaper wrote shocking sentences in his latest column.

Reflecting on the words by Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu—Chairman of Turkey’s main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) which was founded by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey—that Turkey needs to return to the settings during the founding of the Turkish republic, Ardıç said: “The man attacks upon us. Shall we swallow [it]? Shall we turn the other cheek to the one who slaps [us]?”

The Turkish journalist continued: “Mr. Kemal, your knowledge is not enough to realize, but the seeds of what is happening to us and the price we pay are hidden in those ‘founding settings!’ Why did you shoulder the Kurdish hump, honorable Ittihadists? You massacred the Armenians, sent the Greeks, [and] did not recognize the Arabs. Why did you shoulder the Kurds? What kind of a founding setting is this?”
