The Holy See has confirmed that Pope Francis plans to visit Armenia in the current year.

The Vatican spokesman said Francis would visit Armenia, for several days, most likely at the end of June, but the exact dates had not yet been set, according to Reuters news agency.  

The Director of the Holy See’s Press Office, Father Federico Lombardi, said a final survey of the sites by organizers on the Vatican side has not yet taken place and there is no definitive program for this visit approved by the Pope, the Vatican Radio reported.
