Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu has held urgent talks by phone with the Defense Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Russian MOD reports.

According to the information received by the Russian MOD, the escalation was recorded in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict on the night of April 1 and April 2. This region is constantly in the center of attention of the Russian MOD.

“In this connection, on April 2 the Russian Federation Defense Minister, Army General Sergey Shoygu held urgent talks by phone with his colleagues, Defense Minister of Armenia Seyran Ohanyan and Defense Minister of Azerbaijan, Lieutenant General Zakir Hasanov on the need to take  immediate measures towards stabilizing the situation in the conflict zone,” the statement reads.
