Ukrainian state-run arms manufacturer "Ukroboronprom" that unites the main defensive enterprises of the country, announced an agreement with Turkey to start joint production of military equipment, UNIAN reported.

А memorandum on joint development and production of military radar stations is signed with the Turkish company Havelsan, the press service of the Ukrainian company   reported.

General  director of "Ukroboronprom" Roman Romanov "stated that they would join forces with the leading Turkish company and  would  develop a powerful innovative product which would comply with the international standards.

According to him, one of priority tasks of the Ukrainian military industrial complex is transition to international standards in production of arms and military equipment.

The report says that Turkey is a member of NATO therefore this experience will allow Ukraine to deepen military and technical cooperation with the NATO countries.

Also, according to the press service, "Ukroboronprom" and Havelsan  agreed on expansion of cooperation in the field of aviation.
