The European Parliament is concerned about the situation in the sphere of human rights in Turkey. The European deputies voted for the relevant resolution at a plenary session in Strasbourg on Thursday, TASS reported.

The resolution stated that the situation in such areas as independence of the judicial system, freedom of expression and respect of human rights is of concern.

In this regard, the European Parliament members have noted that the similar situation in compliance with the criteria for the EU candidate countries.
