The terrorist groups such as Islamic state or al-Qaeda is the most serious threats to the West, stated the US President Barack Obama in his interview with Bild newspaper on the eve of his visit to Germany ( 24-25 April ) .

"The terrorists from such terrorist groups as the Islamic State or Al - Qaeda  are the most serious threat that we oppose ," he said, noting that the fight against the Islamists is difficult for many reasons . "For me, the destruction of the Islamic State is of paramount importance ," Obama said. The US President stressed that the Islamic State retreats both in Syria and Iraq.

" Yet the terrorist attacks in Paris and Brussels have shown that we must do more to prevent the attacks ,"  said Obama. The US president mentioned that at the moment, " Europe, without any doubts, is facing serious challenges." Among them he enlisted terrorism and migration crisis . " Russia 's aggression against Ukraine threatens our common notion of a united, free, and peaceful Europe,” he said , reports the TASS.
