YEREVAN. – Halabyan Street in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan is still closed after the bus explosion in the street on Monday night.

The law enforcement authorities are still investigating the incident, and expertise studies have been commissioned, the Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter informed from the scene. 

A criminal case has opened into this incident.

The blast had occurred in a public transport bus.

The explosion was so powerful that it was heard from several kilometers, and windows were broken in nearby buildings.

There are two casualties, and their identities are being ascertained.  

As of Tuesday 4:20am, there are eight injured, and they have been hospitalized.

Doctors say two are in critical condition, one is in satisfactory condition, and the rest are in moderate condition.
