SWIFT global financial network warned its customers about cyber incidents, Reuters reported.

As it is specified, attackers had sent fraudulent SWIFT messages from system operating departments of financial institutions, with personal computers or workstations connected to the SWIFT network.

The warning, which SWIFT issued in a confidential alert sent over its network, did not name any victims or disclose the value of any losses from the previously undisclosed attacks.

SWIFT released a security update for the software which banks use for access to the network on Monday, on April 25, Lenta reported.
