The victims of the Armenian Genocide were honored in Avignon city of France. Large number of people gathered at the Agricol Perdiguier city square in front of the memorial to the victims of all genocides, Nouvelles d’Armenie reports.
The ceremony started with the Lord’s Prayer, being followed by the anthems of Armenia and France.
Chairman of the French-Armenian Association Véronique Bruna-Mardoyan thanked the city Mayor Cécile Helle for the bust of the French Resistance hero Missak Manouchian, installed next to the memorial.
The senator of Department of Vaucluse also took part in the ceremony.
