The traces of Russia and Turkey are seen behind the recent clashes in Nagorno-Karabakh, reads an article posted on the website of France 24 television.

As per the article, Ankara-Moscow relations strained drastically, when in November 2015, the Turkish air force downed a Russian attack aircraft in Syria.

Azerbaijan is an alternative to Russia in terms of energy supply to the European Union. If Russia destabilizes the region, Europe will have to abandon this energy corridor, noted political analyst Tornike Gordadze of the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po). 

In his view, Turkey, for its part, wants to undermine the region, provoke Azerbaijan, interfere in the Karabakh conflict, and completely distance Baku from Moscow.
