Vartkes Mahdessian will continue to represent the Armenian community in the parliament of Cyprus.

Mahdessian was formally declared Thursday Representative of the Armenian religious group to the Cyprus House of Representatives, after submitting his candidacy on Wednesday unopposed, CNA agency reported.

Representatives of Armenians, Maronites and Latins have been also declared.

Mahdessian has held the same position since 2006.
