YEREVAN. - The economic growth index in 2016 may exceed that of 2015, Armenian Vice Prime Minister and Minister of International Economic Integration and Reforms, Vache Gabrielyan, stated in the parliament Wednesday.

He reminded that the 3.2 percent economic growth in 2015 proved higher than the government forecast by 2.2 percent. As to the international organizations, they expected drop in the economy of Armenia but nothing like that happened. At the same time, growth is expected in 2016, and it is not ruled out that it will prove greater, the Vice PM said.

There are also preconditions for growth in 2017. More detailed assessments will be given in the framework of the Program of Medium-Term Expenditure of the Government in July, Gabrielyan said.
