President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has suggested Pope Francis to meet with Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill in Belarus, BelTA reported.

He said that it is time for pontiff to arrive to Belarus and together with their patriarch to meet their people. He is sure that there will be more than one million people who would like to see this handshake not at the airport of the far Cuba, but on the ground, which is located in the center of Europe. He emphasized that his country was not affected by those cataclysms which, as the pontiff emphasized  occurred in the Post-Soviet republics and countries of Eastern Europe after the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Lukashenko suggested the district of the Trostenets memorial complex as the place for meeting where thousands of civilians of different nationalities were burned in the years of war.
