YEREVAN. – There has been some movement of troops, the Minister of Defense of Armenia, Seyran Ohanyan, told reporters on Monday.

“Movement of troops occurs during military operations,” Ohanyan said. “The entire staff of the [Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR/Artsakh)] Defense Army carried out the task set before it.

“There is nothing to hide; there has been some movement of troops, [and] which today is under the supervision of the entire staff of the Defense Army, the division located in the given sectors. These territories are enshrined in the NKR territories, and I believe that this will be duly processed in the negotiation process, which will also apply to these territories.

“Just as we don’t forget our historical territories, we can’t forget these territories, in the same way. That’s why we have created a positional defense, so that the control—in terms of effect, proactiveness—is in the hand of the [NKR] Defense Army staff.”
