The British withdrawal from the EU would be a bad decision for Europe and will have disastrous consequences for the United Kingdom said the Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Jentiloni, reports the RIA Novosti.

he referendum on the British membership to the EU will be held on June 23. According to the survey, the number of supporters and opponents of Brexit  ( Britain's withdrawal from the EU ) is almost the same. The question of the referendum on EU membership, which the country considers as the most important strategic decision for the whole generation, is: " Should the United Kingdom remain a member of the European Union or leave the European Union?"

"I hope that the referendum will "stay" and all show reasonable political economic analysis of the EU decision to leave would be bad for Europe and disastrous for the UK ," said Jentiloni to La Stampa newspaper , which was published on May 26.

He said that shortly after the referendum in the UK there will be held meeting of six EU founding countries in Berlin, like it was in Rome on February, attended by the presidents of Italy, Germany, France, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.
