The Last Bell will sound Friday for around 25 thousand Grade 12 and 30 thousand Grade 9 students of around 1,400 schools in Armenia. But there are small communities where there will be solely one or two graduates.

On this day, the last lesson, Last Bell event, and respective festive concerts will be held for the children graduating from the elementary and high schools of the country.

Narine Hovhannisyan, Head of the Public Education Department at the Ministry of Education and Science, informed at Thursday’s press conference, however, that this year’s Last Bell events in Armenia will begin with a minute of silence in memory of the fallen heroes of the war, which Azerbaijan had unleashed in early April.

And the final as well as the university entrance exams will get underway soon.

The Last Bell is a tradition coming from the ex-Soviet times, and it is the most popular and anticipated day of the schoolchildren. This day is celebrated in a variety of countries, and numerous respective events are organized.
