Chief of Military Police Department of Defense Ministry was dismissed, stated deputy chief of press service of Azerbaijani Defense Ministry Teymur Abdullayev, APA agency reports.

According to him, rumors on the resignation of commander Baku Garrison Lieutenant General Rovshan Akbarov are not true. “Rovshan Akbarov was not dismissed. In fact, Chief of Military Police colonel Rovshan Maharramov was dismissed,” he said.

Earlier, the Azerbaijani mass media disseminated information Azerbaijani Defense Minister Safar Abiyev relived Commander of Baku Garrison Lieutenant General Rovshan Akbarov of his post.
