At a meeting in Ankara, the leaders of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries may adopt a decision on launching talks concerning preparation of an agreement on trade and economic cooperation with China, Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov said, RIA Novosti reports.

“The leaders are expected to give an instruction to the Eurasian Economic Commission on signing a joint statement with China regarding the launch of talks on signing an agreement on trade and economic cooperation between the Eurasian Union and China,” Ushakov told journalists.

He also noted that the preparation of a “road map” with China is currently underway. It will include a range of priority joint projects, including on the development of transportation infrastructure.

The Russian Presidential Aide noted that the position of the union member-states on the trade and economic cooperation with China will be discussed at the restricted format meeting in Astana.
