The document does not limit the application of the EEU standard protective measures against imports from Vietnam…

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has signed the law on free trade between the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and Vietnam, the corresponding document was published on the National Legal Internet Portal on Tuesday.

The agreement was signed in Kazakhstan in May 2015. It assumes that at first the customs duties will be nullified on approximately 60% of the goods on which the parties do business. By 2025, after the end of the transition periods 90% of goods will have nullified duties.  The document does not limit the application of the EEU standard protective measures against imports from Vietnam.

The bill of ratification of the document was adopted by the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus on May 25, 2016 and approved by the Council of the Republic on May 27, 2016.
