The Japanese technologists have developed an ultralight drone , weighing less than 200 grams, and tested it on Kyushu island, which had recently been affected by the earthquake, reports Nikhon Kendzay.

According to the newspaper, Tokyo Institute of Cartography in collaboration with the Japanese scientific research center for natural disaster prevention have created several experimental models. They have been used for experimental purposes in Kumamoto Prefecture in Kyushu Island to study the effects of the earthquake.

One of the drones as the newspaper informs, is a multicopter which is made from ultra-light carbon-hydrogen texture and uses four propellers. Mini UAV fits in the palm and together with batteries weights less than 199 grams.

Drone is equipped with a navigation receiver, compass, 8 million megapixel camera and is capable of flying at an altitude of 20-30 meters. The drone allows to take three-dimensional images of ground objects.  The flight route can be assigned by means of a notebook, reports Nikkey.
