Mass sackings at Public Television of Azerbaijan are continuing.

Specifically, the director of the Information Department Elgun Ibrahimov, correspondent in Turkey Rahima Mirzoyeva and Dilgam Mirzoyev, correspondent for Central Asia Fizuli Mejidli and Reyhan Mejidli, senior editor Mais Aghayev, senior editor Esmira Gasimova, correspondent Dilaver Seyidov, host of Russian language programs Tamilla Shirinova,  political commentator Bakhtiyar Salimov and correspondent Rauf Nabiyev were  dismissed օn June 1, reads the message disseminated in social networks on behalf of the journalists who disagree with the personnel policy at the ITV.

The authors claim that the decision on dismissals was taken in the absence of the ITV General Director Jamil Guliyev, who is currently not in the country.  

The message also points out to the illegality of some layoffs, since the department heads may be fired only by the ITV Council, and not its CEO. 

There is also information on the upcoming dismissal of 7-8 employees this week.
