Turkey committed no crime by downing the Russian jet and shouldn’t thus apologize, Turkish Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekçi stated Friday.
In an interview with Turkish IHA agency, the Minister said that they do not regret but are upset by downing the Russian jet. “Turkey committed no crime by downing the Russian jet. Therefore, apologizing is out of the question. We were upset by the death of the Russian pilot. I think Russians are also upset about intentionally violating the Turkish airspace,” Zeybekçi added.
