At least 23 people were killed in flooding in the U.S. state of West Virginia.

More than 100 houses are destroyed, thousands of people are left without electricity, Reuters reported. The authorities are afraid that the death toll will rise. Search and rescue operations are underway.

The U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has sent special divisions to fight against consequences of cataclysm.

Heavy rains began on June 23. A state of emergency is introduced in Virginia and West Virginia.
