YEREVAN. – Armenian MP Edmon Marukyan lodged a complaint with the State Commission for Protection of Economic Competition due to the sharp increase in prices for air tickets.

The statement particularly says “Using the fact that the closure of Upper Lars checkpoint, airlines have raised the prices of air tickets in the direction of Russia (especially Moscow) for almost three times for receiving excess profit due to violation of the rights of citizens.

There are bases to believe that all airlines have agreed to a simultaneous price increase, as there are no objective reasons for a rise in price of air tickets now. I suggest to file legal proceedings, to take urgent measures for restoration of the fair prices, and to bring offenders to justice. “
