Russian Railways and Iran signed a protocol to cooperate on North-South corridor, representative of the Russian Railways said.
The transit is formed by four participants – India, Russia, Iran and Azerbaijan, Alexander Misharin said.
The new transport corridor is to connect northern Europe with South-East Asia and will serve as a link to merge railways of Iran, Azerbaijan and Russia. The transport corridor will have a capacity of 5 million tons of cargo annually, and is expected to reach 10 million.
